This tin-sign is an incredible piece and one that I suspect could complete a Peterson decoy collection. Raised-relief and most-likely dating to around the late 1930's to early 40's I simply cannot put into words how neat this sign is. Absolutely nothing wrong with this sign, no dents, not pits, no rust. Posted here for your enjoyment. - ChuckBrief history on Oscar Peterson as well as some examples of his work. Here.
This lure signifies the quintessential vintage fishing lure and is the logo for Chuck's Tackle Box. Invented in 1859 by Riley Haskell the bait comes in three different sizes 3 1/2, 41/2 and 6". It was made primarily of both copper and brass although some lures have been found made entirely of each. This bait was made for approximately 16 years. Riley died at the young age of 55 in 1882. Riley has ties to New Hampshire in that his mother was from Concord NH.
